Eutanasia, un problemática en la sociedad.

RESUMEN

La utilización del término eutanasia, “buena muerte”, ha evolucionado y actualmente hace referencia al acto de acabar con la vida de una persona enferma, a petición suya o de un tercero, con el fin de minimizar el sufrimiento.

Algunos sectores que tratan de imponer en la sociedad contemporánea una determinada idea del “progreso”, la impulsan, casi inconscientemente, a aceptar como “buenas” las actuaciones encaminadas a terminar con la vida de individuos cuyas condiciones vitales no sean consideradas suficientemente aceptables.

El “derecho a morir con dignidad" ha generado en el mundo diversos debates relacionados con el final de la vida humana. Gran parte de los autores que defienden el derecho a una "muerte digna", saben que éste incluye el derecho a disponer de la propia vida, y en su caso practicar la eutanasia; así, que nadie tendría derecho a imponer la obligación de seguir viviendo a una persona que, en razón de un sufrimiento extremo, ya no lo desea.

El hecho está, en que actualmente, se pretende despenalizar la eutanasia justificándolo como forma de evitar sufrimiento físico o moral a determinadas personas. Es esencial combatir esta trivialidad, mostrando el daño y las consecuencias negativas que la eutanasia tienen para la sociedad, así como fortaleciendo el papel de los cuidados paliativos, es decir las atenciones, cuidados y tratamientos médicos y farmacológicos que se dan a los enfermos en fase avanzada y enfermedad terminal, y que se  administran con el objetivo de mantener la mejor calidad de vida posible hasta la muerte; y tener en mente, que lo importante es tratar de eliminar el sufrimiento y no la persona.

 ABSTRACT

The use of the term euthanasia, "good death", has been developed and currently refers to the Act of ending the life of a sick person, to request yours or a third party, in order to minimize the suffering. Some sectors that seek to impose a certain idea of 'progress', in contemporary society driving it, almost unconsciously, to accept how "good" actions aimed at ending the lives of individuals whose vital conditions are not considered sufficiently acceptable. The "right to die with dignity" has generated various discussions related to the end of human life in the world. Much of the authors who defend the right to a "dignified death", know that this includes the right to life itself, and if practicing euthanasia; so that no one would be entitled to impose the obligation to live to a person who, because of extreme suffering, already not desired. The fact is, that at present, is to decriminalize euthanasia, justifying it as a way to avoid physical or moral suffering individuals. It is essential to combat this triviality, showing damage and negative consequences that euthanasia have for society, as well as the role of palliative care, i.e. attention, care and treatment to strengthen medical and pharmacological which are given to patients in advanced stage and terminal illness, and which are managed with the objective of maintaining the best quality of life possible until death; and keep in mind, that the important thing is to eliminate suffering and not the person.
